September 2020 UPS Shipping Updates

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, UPS has halted their service guarantee on all ground shipments. This service guarantee, which states they will deliver the package in the timeframe that is suggested upon purchasing the label, is what we have come to depend on when we chose them as a shipping partner. Understandably, UPS saw an increase in shipping volumes and responsibly implemented additional safety protocols. In some regions this has slowed down their services.

Since we ship perishable food (it cannot be in transit longer than two days), we were forced to remove ground shipping as an option to certain regions of the US that were experiencing severe delays. We sympathize with you as UPS Air Prices have continued to increase and we don't build in shipping to our meal prices and offer "free shipping".

As a small business, we understand it is frustrating if your meals are delayed in transit causing them to go bad (or damaged because UPS is trying to keep up) and we will do everything we can to work with you to refund your purchase or send new meals. However, as a small business, if certain regions continue to show severe delays we will continue to modify shipping options to safely deliver meals.

We appreciate your understanding and support to Midwest Meals during these times. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via email and we would be happy to chat.

In Good Health,
