Midwest Meals vs. Fast Food

Midwest Meals vs. Fast Food

Have you ever been incredibly hungry and didn't feel like making dinner? Of course, we all have! Instead of cooking, did you go out and grab a burger and fries, or did you stop at the deli for a dinner special? Whatever you picked, did you feel good about it? Often times we choose the quick option instead of the best option. It's hard to eat healthy when grabbing something on the go... until now.

When it comes to fast-food prices, they are hard to beat! But, is that double-quarter-pounder really the best thing to satisfy your appetite? To put it into perspective, a Big Mac from McDonald's has 540 calories, 46 grams of carbs, 28 grams of fat, and 25 grams of protein. That is insane for just a burger! Tack on a medium fry to make it a meal and you're at 880 calories for the day. For most people, that's half of your daily intake!

Switching gears from fast food, let's talk about us, Midwest Meals. We have 12 different signature meals that are stocked up in our storefront Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.! Along with 12 different meals to choose from, if you order online you have more options with our Build-A-Meals. To compare with that Big Mac from earlier, let's take our Cheeseburger Bowl. The Cheeseburger Bowl has brown jasmine rice followed by seasoned lean ground beef, cheddar jack cheese, red onion, sesame seeds, a dill pickle spear, and to top it all off, Creamy Bacon sauce from Walden Farms! For $6.50 you get 406 calories, 35 grams of carbs, 16 grams of fat, and 31 grams of protein. That is a pretty good deal for a meal that tastes amazing and keeps you full for longer than two hours!

All in all, whichever option you decide, let it be a good one! The fast-food option is not terrible for you in moderation, but it surely adds up in price, both on your wallet and your body. If you are in a pinch and are looking for that healthier option, stop in and give us a try!
